if it runs in the family usually means more than one person in a family has done the same thing or somewhat of the same thing and in this case two brothers have done somewhat of the same thing.

Actually he gave this girl herpes. He even admitted after having sex with her that he had it, because she asked after she contracted it. So shes sueing him on emotional damages or somthing.
